Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how VoiceDrop AI ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our iOS application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple-assigned user identifier and optionally your name and email, depending on your Apple privacy settings. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and name.
Audio Data
When you request a transcription, your audio is transmitted securely to a speech-to-text provider for processing (see Third-Party Services below). After a successful primary-provider transcription, VoiceDrop requests deletion of the uploaded file and provider job. If an upload fails, the iOS app may keep a temporary local copy on your device for retry for up to 24 hours; you can delete it sooner in the app. Our fallback provider handles audio under its own retention policy. VoiceDrop does not use your audio to train its own models.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you use the app, including the number of minutes transcribed, languages used, and features accessed. This data is used to enforce subscription quotas and improve the service.
Subscription and Purchase Data
Subscription management is handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive subscription status, product, entitlement, storefront, and transaction-related information associated with your VoiceDrop account identifier. We do not receive your full payment-card details, which are handled by Apple.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the transcription service
- To authenticate your account and keep it secure
- To track and enforce your monthly transcription quota
- To process subscription purchases and manage your plan
- To respond to support requests
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate VoiceDrop AI:
Soniox
Speech-to-text transcription (primary)
Your audio is sent to Soniox for transcription. After the result is retrieved, VoiceDrop requests deletion of both the uploaded file and transcription job.
ElevenLabs
Speech-to-text transcription (fallback)
If our primary provider is temporarily unavailable, your audio may be sent to ElevenLabs for transcription instead, subject to their data usage policies.
OpenAI
Transcript title generation
A short excerpt of your transcript text is sent to OpenAI to automatically generate a title for each transcription. Your audio is never sent to OpenAI.
Supabase
Authentication and database
Your account data, transcripts, and usage statistics are stored in Supabase, hosted in the European Union (AWS Frankfurt, Germany). Data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS).
RevenueCat
Subscription management
RevenueCat processes subscription and entitlement events linked to your VoiceDrop account identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your audio or transcripts from VoiceDrop.
Vercel Analytics
Website analytics and hosting insights
Our public website uses Vercel Analytics to help us understand aggregate traffic and page usage. Technical and interaction data is processed under Vercel’s privacy terms.
Apple
Authentication and payments
Sign in with Apple and in-app purchases are handled by Apple. Apple's privacy policy governs data collected during these interactions.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Your transcript text, speaker segments, word timestamps, titles, and related metadata are stored until you delete the transcript or your account. Usage records are stored with your account to enforce plan limits and operate the service. Successful audio is not stored in VoiceDrop's cloud database. Temporary failed-upload copies may remain locally on your device for up to 24 hours, and third-party providers apply the retention practices described above.
Account deletion: You can delete your account at any time in VoiceDrop under Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your VoiceDrop profile, transcripts, usage records, and referral data from our database. Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase records as required to administer subscriptions, prevent fraud, or comply with law. Deleting your VoiceDrop account does not cancel an active App Store subscription.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
As our data is stored in the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to:
- Access - request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction - request that inaccurate data be corrected.
- Deletion - request that your data be deleted ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability - request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection - object to processing of your personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
VoiceDrop AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
